DR. DEBRALEE FREDERICK, M.D.
Meet your Washington, D.C. Board Certified Doctor
Dr. Debralee Frederick is the founder and Internal Medicine physician here at Hibiscus Medical in Northeast Washington, D.C. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Frederick moved to the United States at age 14 and attended both high school and college in Brooklyn, NY. She received her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan Hospitals. Dr. Frederick is grateful for the opportunity to serve her community and get to know her patients on a personal level. As a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, Dr. Frederick believes that everyone is deserving of high-quality medical care, regardless of socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identification, race, nationality, physical and mental ability, religion or political views.
Dr. Frederick chose Internal Medicine because it allows her to work with a variety of medical specialties. Within the field of Internal Medicine, her areas of interest include preventative medicine, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, anxiety and depression, women’s health, diabetes, healthcare disparities and more. As the daughter of a former police detective, Dr. Frederick enjoys the investigative work involved when diagnosing and treating a patient. She looks at a patient’s symptoms and their entire “story”— their medical history, physical exam, test results, response to prior medication and their psychosocial environment— to create a customized treatment plan. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Frederick gardening and spending time with her husband, Jason Kellogg, and their miniature poodle, Honey.
